The brilliant Kyo Akiara from our community Facebook group jumps in as our guest and tells us about the indie gem Recettear. You should join too!
Recettear is a japanese indie game developed by EasyGameStation and localized by Carpe Fulgur. The game is reminiscent of old school games like Harvest Moon and The Legend of Zelda and plays out very similarly to those games. The item selling part of the game is very Harvest Moon-esque, while the dungeon crawling part gives off a more Legend of Zelda feel and this 13 minute gameplay video covers the various aspects of the game. It starts with dungeon gameplay and ends with selling and placing items in your shop. The dungeon I chose to tackle is the second dungeon you’ll be able to go through, floors 1-5, and at the end I show the boss to that level. Each level is different with a different boss as well. I also show how the world maps and supplying your adventurers works. There are a number of things to do within the game, and I didnt get to cover them all unfortunately, but this video shows the basics of what you need to know.
I hope it shows some insight on how the game works, looks and feels. I would also like to apologize for the slight lag in the last 20 seconds of the video however, but i hope it’s enjoyable to watch.
